8 cups low sodium chicken broth
1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
1 large onion, diced
1 large green onion, diced small
1 large green pepper, diced
1 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes
1 cup BBQ sauce (I like a sweet-style, brown sugar sauce)

1 package Hurst’s HamBeens 15 Bean Soup
8 cups low sodium chicken broth
1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
1 large onion, diced
1 large green onion, diced small
1 large green pepper, diced
1 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes
1 cup BBQ sauce (I like a sweet-style, brown sugar sauce)
Start by sorting the beans and rinsing them thoroughly.
Next, pour the beans into a slow cooker. Add your chicken broth, diced onion, and diced green pepper. Give everything a good stir! Cover and cook on high for about 4 hours, or until beans are tender. It’s very important to make sure your beans are tender at this point.
After that, add the sliced smoked sausage, your flavor packet, the diced tomatoes, and the BBQ sauce. Stir and simmer an additional 30 minutes, or until sausage is heated through.
To add a little freshness, color and additional flavor, garnish your bowls with some sliced green onions. It’s a nice touch if you’re serving this dish to guests.
