Ingredients

  • 1 bag HamBeens® Beef 15 BEAN SOUP®

  • 3/4 cup onion, chopped

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1-2 lbs. stew beef or ground beef, browned

  • 1 15 oz. can stewed tomatoes, chopped

Cooking Directions

  1. Soaking: Place beans in a large pot, cover with 2 quarts of water. Allow beans to soak overnight, or at least 8 hours.
  2. After soaking, drain water, add 12 cups of water, and boil covered 50-60 minutes.
  3. While beans are boiling, sauté the onion, garlic, and beef in a skillet until beef is browned.
  4. Add tomatoes and Hurst’s® 15 Bean Soup® Beef Flavored Seasoning Packet to beef mixture.
  5. Stir and simmer 5-10 minutes.
  6. Add beef mixture to beans and cook 30-45 minutes.
