1 package [Hurst's Green Split HamPeasĀ®](/products/hursts-green-split-ham-peas)
6 cups beef or chicken stock (can use water)
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onion
1 clove minced garlic
Meat Options: Leftover ham or beef bone, with some meat still on the bone OR 1 lb. cubed ham/sausage/beef.
Salt/Pepper to taste

1 package Hurst's Green Split HamPeasĀ®
6 cups beef or chicken stock (can use water)
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onion
1 clove minced garlic
Meat Options: Leftover ham or beef bone, with some meat still on the bone OR 1 lb. cubed ham/sausage/beef.
Salt/Pepper to taste
In a colander or sieve, sort and rinse the dried peas thoroughly. Check for any unwanted debris and discard.
In a 4-6 quart slow cooker, add all ingredients, including ham flavor packet. Stir to combine.
Cover and cook on high 4-5 hours, or low 7-8.
If using a ham/beef bone, remove the bone and trim off any remaining meat, add back into the pot, discard the bone.
Keep warm until ready to serve.
If you prefer a more "brothy" soup, add 1 more cup of liquid.
